A Review Of The Disney Film Wall-E

Posted by Alexander Willis | In: recreation

Arriving to theaters on June 27 of ’08, Disney Pixar’s “Wall-E” was a huge hit. Having millions of hits, critics ranked this film highly. Between the laughs, and the tears, this movie is over-all a heart warming animated film. Wall-E has gained many friends since the release date, and has quickly raised his popularity level!

WALL-E has been nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. This is such a milestone! No animated movie has ever won Best Picture. This film not only represents friendship and the extend that some go to keep it alive, but it also symbolizes love. Some of you might laugh at that remark, but when you can feel a connection between two animated characters, you know it has been put together very precisely.

Small in size but big at heart, Wall-E embarks on a journey that could change destiny forever. This trip could could change the fate of robots and mankind. This small robot has no idea that what he will find in outer space could take over the entire world. The reason Wall-E left his normal lifestyle is because he met another robot, Eve. Eve stole his heart immediately, and when she left for the distant future, Wall-E followed along like a little puppy.

Wall-E is designed to clean up a waste-covered earth. This job might be the greatest thing that has ever happened to little wall-e because it leads him to Eve, which leads him to the future. Although he comes in counter with something that was not pre-thought, his instinct is to fix it.

When he arrives in outer space, he does not have anything on his mind aside from Eve. He has no idea where he is, or what is going on their. Things start to uncover about Wall-E realizes that humanity is in harm due to lack of proportion with corresponding things. I’m not going to explain the entire movie here. You will have to watch the movie yourself!

I will briefly run though a couple of the cast members in this spectacular movie. Wall-E and MO are both voiced by the very talented Ben Burtt. Ben is an american sound designer for multiple movies including the world wide phenomenon Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E. T. The Extra-Terrestrial, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Obviously, you can now see, if you didn’t before, that Ben Burtt is very productive in his job.

The costar of Wall-E is Elissa Knight, who is the voice of Eve. She is an actress in many other animated movies. Elissa plays Lil aka “3″ in Toy Story 3, Tia in Cars, and a woman in the restaurant in Ratatouille. A couple other character voices consist of Fred Willard who voices Shelby Forthright – BnL CEO, John Ratzenberger who voices John, and Kathy Najimy who voices Mary.

If you haven’t already, go enjoy this movie. It is filled with laughs, but it also has it’s sad moments. It has a heart warming plot. If you like animated movies, you will love this one. Disney Pixar creates sensational animated films. This is another movie to add to your Pixar collection! Watch it, love it, spread the word!

Here are two well-known examples on how these back Narratives can heighten the charm of a song. Movies They just pushed too hard, or tried to do something that was totally out of their range or experimental. almost fits the definition of a documentary; The film doesn’t employ sideshow tricks such as love triangles (i.e.

Saints Top Vikings To Advance To Superbowl

Posted by Ross Everett | In: recreation

Until Sunday, it looked as if the return of Brett Favre to the NFL would have a storybook ending and propel the Minnesota Vikings to the Superbowl. Instead, the New Orleans Saints will be heading to the Superbowl for the first time in franchise history. Garrett Hartley nailed a 40 yard field goal in overtime to give the Saints a 31-28 victory in the NFC Championship game after Brett Favre was intercepted deep in Saints territory during the final seconds of regulation.

The Vikings did reward NFL betting fans who took them as +4 underdogs with a pointspread cover. Minnesota finished the season a solid 11-6-1 against the NFL pointspread while the Saints head into the Superbowl with a 9-9 ATS mark. The 59 combined points scored went OVER the posted total of 53′. The Saints went OVER for the second consecutive game after playing four straight UNDER verdicts to close out the regular season.

After the game, head coach Sean Payton drew an analogy to the city of New Orleans’ recovery after Hurricane Katrina:

“This is for everybody in this city. This stadium used to have holes in it and used to be wet. It’s not wet anymore. This is for the city of New Orleans.”

Winning quarterback Drew Brees extended that same metaphor:

“In reality, we had to lean on each other in order to survive and in order to get where we are now. The city is on its way to recovery, and in a lot of ways has come back better than ever. We’ve used the strength and resiliency of our fans to go out and play every Sunday and play with the confidence that we can do it, that we can achieve everything we’ve set out to achieve.”

Place kicker Hartley was low key despite securing the victory with his overtime field goal:

“Just helping my team get to Miami. Just doing my part.”

Brett Favre didn’t have much to say in defeat:

“I’ve felt better. It was a physical game. A lot of hits. You win that and you sure feel a lot better.” Mississippi native Favre did throw his support behind the Saints:

“I would have loved to represent the NFC. But, as I told Sean throughout the year when we talked, if it’s not us, I hope it’s you guys.”

The Vikings gave up a total of five turnovers including three fumbles. That, said running back Adrian Peterson, was the game:

“We really gave those guys the game. Too many turnovers. It’s eating me up inside.

Chinese collusion ring caught on PokerStars
As if Chinese gamblers weren’t having a bad enough time of it in their own homeland, now they feeling the wrath of the Western world as well. Mind you, this time it’s with good reason as PokerStars has exposed a large scale collusion ring involving several dozen Chinese players, who profited by as much as $750,000 by cheating on the poker site.Talk about giving your fellow countrymen a bad name. It’s hard to feel sorry for the innocent victims of China’s gambling crackdown when this sort of thing happens but we have to remember not to tar everyone with the same brush. Most people in China just want to have a game of poker or mahjong without being given 20 years hard labour, but these reprobates will have only served to justify the country’s misguided, hard-line, anti-gambling stance. Yankees looking to land another stud in Cliff Lee
It seems once a player reaches a certain level of super stardom the only place where he can play is where they?re wearing pinstripes and the Yankee blue. That?s just the way it seems to go in baseball. Now that Cliff Lee has established himself as one of the elite pitchers in the game the Yankees want him and they just might get their wish.Trade talks have been going back and forth between the Mariners and the Yankees over Cliff Lee in what would be a package deal going to the Mariners for the former A.L Cy Young lefty. Read more.Whether the Yankees get Lee in a trade is uncertain. What is certain is that Cliff Lee is a free agent at the end of this season and the Yankees already have to be considered front runners to scoop him up. The Yankees have the payroll, they have his friend and former teammate Sabathia and Cliff Lee clearly likes pitching in Yankee Stadium. Lee dismantled the Yankee lineup in last year?s World Series and seemed to enjoy pitching on the big stage. There?s no stage bigger than the Bronx.I can understand why Lee wouldn’t want to hang out in Seattle. Look how the Mariners team ran Griffey out of town, though, Griffey will probably never say a bad word against the team, someone on that snitched on him for sleeping in the clubhouse. That’s like baseball blasphemy for a guy of Griffey’s stature. He should be able to nail hookers in the dugout and no one should say a word about the Hall of Famer, considering all he’s done for that city. Can’t see why Lee would want to stick around in that clubhouse full of snitches. Loose lips sink ships and snitches get stitches, isn’t that what they say? Read more.If and when the Yankees land Lee, he will be another allstar pitcher in a star studded rotation. No doubt all of the Yankee haters will rise up yet again to denounce ?The Evil Empire? for spending the money to sign one of the game?s best. I?ve never understood that stance. You would think that people would applaud an organization for spending whatever it takes to make their team World Series contenders. I get the whole argument that it?s not fair to the small market teams and I don?t buy it. If owners don?t want to shell out the money or can?t afford to that?s just too bad, I don?t see the need for sympathy. Yeah, it?s not fair, but neither baseball, that?s been established. And the argument that other teams can?t afford to sign big name players for the most part to me is nonsense. There?s several teams that make plenty of money, but their owners are more concerned with the bottom line instead of putting a winning team on the field, like the Toronto Bluejays for example. You can?t tell me a team is committed to winning when they give away the best pitcher in the game.If the Yankees do pick up Cliff Lee, head to the nearest bookie or online gaming website and make bet that they win the World Series again, and then do it again next year, heck even year after that.

32Red headlines at July Festival races
Not sure which horse to back at Newmarket today? How about Red 32? Since acquiring Nedplay a few months ago, 32Red has been going about its business nice and quietly, cantering along tucked in the middle of the pack, if you will. But as if to prove that its race is far from run the online operator has cracked the whip and signed a four-year deal to sponsor three of the big races at the July Festival at Newmarket, which begins today. Let’s hope there’s not a faller there.Read more.

Slim Pickings to replace Roy Hodgson at Fulham
If Roy Hodgson has been handed a poisoned chalice at Anfield, God help whoever replaces him at Craven Cottage. By all accounts José Mourinho and Pep Guardiola turned the job down because they couldn’t possibly measure up to Sir Roy, and after Joachim Löw (pictured) wins the World Cup, he’ll find moving to Fulham too much of a step up, so the SuperWhites are now left with the likes of Gianfranco Zola, Alan Curbishley and, inevitably, Sven-Göran Eriksson. Hardly seems fair, does it? Read more.
